Date:2019-06-27

Mr. Anderson, the Principal of Hurston Kindergarten, visited Monmouth school with a Hurston student, Jason. Ms. Jenny Phillips the Principal of Monmouth, warmly received them.

Monmouth School is a classic British school. Its history goes back 400 years. This school aims to achieve academic excellence; that is why it promotes small class teaching, and provides more than 30 academic subjects and more than 100 kinds of extracurricular optional courses and activities. At the same time, there are a number of scholarships to encourage students who have an outstanding performance. In the previous 5 years, the students of Monmouth have achieved amazing results. During the past year most of its students have entered the top universities. The school ranks 13th in the UK and in 2019 it is in the mainstream UK education media. The RS Academics Parental Pulse survey  places Monmouth kindergarten within the top five in the UK.

Also, its curriculum guide won first place in the TES Creativity Awards and this will be presented to the school at its London headquarters soon.

The Monmouth Kindergarten and Junior Primary School campus is located at Agincourt school in the picturesque border between England and Wales. The campus offers creative programs that provide a solid foundation for early literacy, numeracy and core skills. It utilises early childhood research to develop problem-solving skills whilst promoting motivation. Its aim, above all, is to enrich the lives of children. The final goal is to provide every child a chance to thrive!

Each year there are many students from famous French, German and Italian kindergartens and schools that participate in this British curriculum exchange. Hurston is the only kindergarten in Asia to cooperate in this way.

Accompanied by Ms. Jenny Phillips,Mr. Anderson observed classroom learning for students of different ages and had a friendly interaction with the children.

Mr. Anderson has personal experience of  international teaching and talked directly with teachers to explore and cooperate in early childhood education in an international environment.

Regarding the focus of this trip, Hurston's children routinely transfer courses with Monmouth School, and the two sides have reached a mutual understanding of cooperation.

The two-week transfer experience at Monmouth School left Jason with deep and beautiful memories.

This has been a journey of personal growth for Jason. He has gained new friends, grown in confidence, and broadened his horizons.
